Still pouring

Overview

Lucky Jack's is big enough to have entrances on both Orchard and Allen street and the copper topped bar inside runs over 50ft long. Bars of this ilk tend to attract frat crowds, but this place is much better than most. Thank the indie rock sound track for that.

History

A hole through the wall, a block long

In 2009 a photo blog described Lucky Jack's as a hole through the wall, a block long1, with a long, long copper-topped bar1. When we listed it, we noted entrances on both Orchard and Allen, and credited the indie rock soundtrack with making it much better than most bars of its ilk. It says its easygoing vibe has kept customers coming back since 20042. It's still at 129 Orchard Street, open until 4am every night2, which leaves plenty of time to walk the length of the bar.
