History
Spanish, then tequila, then a lease for sheng jian bao
Suba, Yann de Rochefort and Seamus Mullen's Spanish restaurant, went up for sale in January 2009, barely breaking even by de Rochefort's account1. The owners wanted to open another Boqueria that year, just not here: a Boqueria has to have its bar and dining area in one room, and Suba couldn't give it that1.
The Spitzer's Corner team turned 109 Ludlow into Los Feliz, a gussied-up taqueria and tequila bar with a clubby lower level and private rooms, set to open on September 8, 20092, 3. Time Out found black tin ceilings and worn wood chairs in the dining room, a downstairs barroom covered in murals and paved with dark cobblestones, and more than 100 tequilas, plus cocktails like a hibiscus margarita4.
The last we hear of Los Feliz is November 2014, when the community board was due to consider a change in its ownership5. In August 2025 SH NY Hospitality Group signed a 10-year lease at 109 Ludlow for Tin's, a sheng jian bao restaurant and cocktail bar that was due to open in the first quarter of 20266. As with Los Feliz, the lease takes in the downstairs: 3,600 square feet on the ground floor, the lower level and a sub-lower level6.
