Once the Sardi's of Off Off Broadway
Phebe's was once considered the Sardi's of Off Off Broadway1. When we listed it, it was a big corner bar and restaurant whose half-price happy hour didn't start until midnight. Sometime before 2014 it had a brief incarnation as a lounge, Fuel at Phebe's, before going back to its roots as a neighborhood spot1.
Renovations began just days before Labor Day weekend in 2014, and the bar reopened that September1. It's still at 359 Bowery2, and on Fridays and Saturdays it stays open until 4am2.
