Overview

An upscale British pub in the basement below Marion's Continental and Antik. It's warm, clean, and attractive and it's just far enough off the radar to make for a good place to take over with friends. And if you're party decides it wants something more lively they can always head up to Antik.

History

Downstairs from Antik, off the radar

Our old review liked Kings Cross, an upscale British pub in the basement below Marion's Continental and Antik, for being just far enough off the radar to take over with friends, with Antik upstairs if the party wanted more. Time Out saw it the same way in 2010: the more casual alternative to Antik's table service, reached through Antik or by its own outdoor entrance1. In December 2012 it was still in the basement of 356 Bowery, under Salon Hecho2. It turned out to be the last tenant down there before Yawning Cobra opened in the space in September 20243.
