History
Fifteen years on the block
Stillwater opened on East Fourth Street in August 20041, 2. From 2008 the neighborhood sports bar was also home to the NYC Cowboys1, 2.
We called it a straightforward neighborhood bar with a pool table and decent bar food, a modest pitch that turned out to be a durable one. It closed on March 31, 2019, after 15 years on the block1, 2, and at least one regular put the closing down to a landlord dispute1, 2.
In late May 2023 Ella Funt, a restaurant, debuted at 78-80 East Fourth Street3. It was still there in the summer of 20264.
