History

A piano bar, not another rocker hangout

Time Out said Soft Spot wasn't what you'd expect from a musician-run bar in Williamsburg: rather than open yet another rocker hangout, owner Matt Webber built a classy, sensual piano bar¹. In August 2014 it had been open for nine years². Laidback was Eater's word for it when it closed after more than a decade in the neighborhood³.
