Loud and raucous, the student crowd here's the same as the other big frat bars on this block, but at least Jake's has a backroom that's free of TVs, so you can try and score digits without the sickly plasma palor.

The dilemma remains unresolved

Jake's Dilemma is still at 430 Amsterdam Avenue, the address on its official site¹. Back then we gave it credit for a backroom free of TVs, where you could try to score digits without the sickly plasma pallor. Whether the backroom has held out against the screens, we couldn't find out.
