Overview

Bar's open Friday night only, and brewery tours are Saturday 12-5pm. Both well worth it.

History

One last Saturday on North 11th

When we listed it, our whole review ran two sentences: the bar was open Friday nights only, the brewery tours ran Saturdays from noon to five, and both were well worth it. Brooklyn Brewery had launched its Williamsburg tasting room in 19961.

Thirty years later it announced a new home at 1 Wythe Avenue, with nearly four times the capacity of the old one and room to grow beyond the traditional tasting room1. On Saturday, August 29, 2026, it threw one final party before closing the doors at 79 North 11th Street2.

As of October 2026 the brewery was closed while it got everything into place at the new space, promising it would be worth the wait3. A brewery that once kept Friday-only hours knows something about making people wait. No new tenant had been reported for 79 North 11th4.
