Overview
If you can handle the tourists this 300 seat Times Square comedy club attracts some of the biggest names in the biz.
History
The rent got the last laugh
Back then we said that if you could handle the tourists, Carolines drew some of the biggest names in the business. The club's founder, Hirsch, had opened Carolines on Broadway in 19921.
In 2022, with the rent on the rise, Hirsch said she would not renew the lease1. The final shows came on New Year's Eve, and as CBS put it, Broadway wouldn't be quite as funny in 20231.
SPIN Midtown took over the former Carolines space at 1626 Broadway, between 49th and 50th Streets, with an opening set for October 9, 20232. It runs ten ping-pong tables and a full bar across 7,500 square feet3.
