Overview

The theme is summer camp, which granted is more than a little camp itself. The bar's popularity rests in the fact that rather than attempting to capture camp kitsch, they've instead pretty successfully captured the feeling of warmth and camaraderie topped off with some smores for dessert.

History

Lights out at summer camp

We once said the summer-camp theme was more than a little camp itself, but that the bar had caught camp's warmth instead of its kitsch. Time Out described walls made of logs and a fireplace for cozying up with some s'mores1. Time Out has since marked it "Camp Bar (CLOSED)"1. In December 2024 a city record put Smith Deli and Grill Juice Bar at 179 Smith Street2.
