Overview

A central location, a big room with tall ceilings, and decent crowd every night of the week, make this one of the best places in NYC to kick off a night.

History

From Guinness to Microsoft

We called it one of the best places in the city to kick off a night, and in 2010 Time Out said that among 25 beers on tap and 60 by the bottle at the airy three-level pub, Guinness was the star1. After 16 years it threw a farewell party on March 25, 2016, and closed two days later to make way for a seven-story office building that would replace the pub and the BP station next door2. Demolition began that April3, and by 2019 Microsoft had leased most of the new building, 300 Lafayette Street4.
