Overview

Although its days of being the hottest spot around have past, the sexy atmosphere ensures that you can't help but feel cool just being here.

History

Soviet-themed, past its prime, cool anyway

Pravda was a Soviet-themed vodka bar1. Keith McNally opened it in 19961. By the time we listed it, we admitted its days as the hottest spot around had passed, but said the sexy atmosphere still made you feel cool just being there.

June 30, 2016, was Pravda's last day, and the plan was to reopen the space as a different bar with a new set of partners1.

Gospel, a lounge, now lists 281 Lafayette Street, open Wednesday through Saturday from 10pm to 4am2.
