History
Art on the walls, eyes on the game
Established in 1927, it has a circular bar that Time Out found packed almost nightly with the post-show crowd from nearby Carnegie Hall1. Sketches of its patrons by the artist Robert Cenedella lent the mahogany walls a genteel touch, though most eyes were on the sports on TV1. The beer-battered fish and chips came with 21 beers on tap to wash them down, Guinness and Blue Moon among them1. They've held up: a 2026 guide called them the best fish and chips you've ever had in a pub2.
