History

Extra time on Third Avenue

When we listed it, Nevada Smith's was a truly international sports bar at 74 Third Avenue, and it closed up shop there in November 2011¹. In April 2013 it reopened in a new home at 100 Third Avenue, between East 12th and East 13th Streets². In September 2015 the marshal took legal possession of it there, and Nevada Smith's said it was temporarily closed due to circumstances beyond its control². Back at the old address, the two buildings at 74-76 Third Avenue were demolished, and a new building, the Nathaniel, opened in 2014 with Westside Market in the retail space³.
