History

A De Niro production, with a thirty-five-year run

Nieporent and Robert De Niro founded Tribeca Grill in 1990, at the corner of Franklin and Greenwich Streets1. It stayed 35 years in the space, which in restaurant years is a dynasty2.

In February 2025 the restaurant announced it would close on March 1, and it did1, 2.

By June 2026 the space had been taken for an American tavern and steakhouse2. Its new tenants anticipate opening toward the end of 2027, so for now the corner of Franklin and Greenwich waits1, 2.
