An unlikely crab shack, still going strong

We called it an unlikely crab shack at the far end of Duane Street, with a lively after-work Tribeca crowd. Its owners had taken the lease in 2005 and opened in early 2006¹.

Fire struck the small restaurant-bar at 185 Duane Street early one Saturday morning in 2011².

In 2024 the Tribeca Citizen found the original Hideaway on Duane Park still going strong after 18 years¹.
