History

Kept its name, borrowed a velvet rope

In January 2008 Eater reported that Crime Scene, at 310 Bowery, was keeping its name but taking on the cheesy velvet rope atmosphere of Mannahatta1. Our old listing called it a beer, shots and bottle-service joint near Houston Street.

By August 2011 the former Crime Scene, and before that Mannahatta, was, in Time Out's words, "now a good-size neighborhood drink spot"2. In December 2014 a company called 310 Bowery Group, doing business as Bowery Bar Room, sought the transfer of the existing license there3.

These days the address is also the name: 310 Bowery calls itself equal parts cocktail lounge, neighborhood staple and nightlife destination4, and on Fridays it stays open until 4am5.
