Two decades on the Bowery, Guinness or no

When we listed Sláinte, we found it hard to get excited about an Irish pub that served Budweiser's Bare Knuckle Stout instead of Guinness. Time Out was warmer in 2010, calling it a no-nonsense hangout from owners who also ran the Baggot Inn and Dempsey's¹. It's still at 304 Bowery as Sláinte Bar & Lounge², open from noon to 3am on weekdays², and it calls itself a Bowery staple of more than two decades².
