Overview

A 24 hour restaurant, bar, and coffee shop with a unique architecture - an outdoor garden is connected to the street by an open air pathway that serves as the bar. A Sunday DJ brunch currently draws a crowd, but it remains to be seen if the idea can hold through the cold winter.

History

It held through more than one winter

When we listed it, Macri Park was a restaurant, bar and coffee shop open around the clock, whose bar was an open-air pathway from the street to the garden, and we wondered whether the idea could hold through a cold winter. It lasted a good deal longer than one winter. In 2015, when ownership of the local dive bar changed hands, it became a gay bar1. On January 13, 2026, the bar at 462 Union Avenue announced on Instagram that it was closing its doors, with no plan for reopening1, 2.
