The roof that worked in any weather
The Delancey's rooftop garden had a retractable cover and a full-service bar of its own, so the parties went on rain or shine, summer or winter1. Below it was the rest of the three-level club that opened in May 2004: a bar on the main floor and a music venue in the basement1.
When we listed it, we grumbled about seven-dollar bottled beer and velvet-rope roof access, and declared that whatever appeal the place once had had evaporated. It outlasted the verdict.
It's still at 168 Delancey Street, still three venues in one building: the rooftop garden, the lounge, and Georgie's downstairs for live music or reggaeton2, 3. In October 2026 it billed all three floors as a haunted mansion2.
