Overview

This shoebox sized pinup themed bar hosts frequent burlesque shows which you can enjoy with steak frittes thanks to delivery from nearby Schillers.

History

The pinups are still on duty

Nurse Bettie opened in 2006, after Stephen Schuler snatched up an empty space on Norfolk Street and went with a 1950s pinup theme1, 2. The name stuck after a drawing by the artist Olivia of Bettie Page dressed in a nurse's uniform2. When we listed it, we called it a shoebox-sized pinup bar with frequent burlesque, which you could enjoy with steak frites delivered from Schiller's nearby. The burlesque is still on: in 2024 the shows started at 9pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and in October 2026 it was listing one every week3, 4.
