Overview

Remarkable for one reason and one reason only, but man is it a doozy. This bar is on the 48th floor of the Marriott Marquis and it's smack dab in the middle of Times Square, and oh yeah, it rotates.

History

Forty-eight floors up, and back again

We called it remarkable for one reason and one reason only, but man, what a doozy: a bar smack dab in the middle of Times Square that rotated. The View and its revolving dining room first opened in 1985¹.

After about five years closed, it reopened in February 2025, revamped by Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group and David Rockwell's Rockwell Group¹. The two-floor restaurant keeps its bar and lounge on the 48th floor, and the menu now lists The View Burger^{1, 2}.
