History

Not going to reopen, at least not here

Our old review knew it as a bi-level Mexican spot with pool tables, a backyard patio and a free PBR for anyone flashing a Warm-Up wristband. In November 2020 its owner, Rebecca Trent, said it had closed for good after a 14-year run: "The Creek and the Cave is not going to reopen"1. In February 2021 came word that it would reopen on April 1 at 611 East 7th Street in Austin, featuring the Creek's famous marquee, which was being dismantled in New York for shipment to Texas2, 3. It lives on there still3.
