History
Under new management, twice
A local hangout in the middle of several tree-lined residential streets, Park Slope Ale House has been in the neighborhood since the early 1990s1.
In 2017 Eugene Kaleniak announced he was stepping down, and the plan for the handover was the usual one: change hands, close for a couple of weeks, reopen in October1.
In 2024 it was taken over by Dante Alston, Alisa Doga and Andy Zehnal, who had owned and run Littleneck in Gowanus2. The stars aligned, as the Brooklyn Paper put it, and the ale house reopened on Super Bowl Sunday, about the best day on the calendar to reopen a bar2.
