History

Craft beer, before the city caught on

The Gate opened in May 1997, which by its own account was long before the city was considered a beer destination¹. Twenty years later it was still pouring at 321 Fifth Avenue², and it still is, opening at 4pm Monday through Thursday and staying until 2 in the morning on Thursdays³.
