A seriously good time is to be had for those who can find this bar hidden away on Ave C - just look for the blue light and don't bother getting there before 11pm.

History

Look for the blue light, now times two

When we listed Nublu, finding it was half the fun: look for the blue light on Avenue C, and don't bother turning up before eleven. Swedish-Turkish saxophonist Ilhan Ersahin had opened it in 20021.

In August 2011 Nublu closed after its liquor license was revoked2. On December 30, 2011, Local East Village reported that it would reopen that night at 62 Avenue C, just in time for New Year's2.

Now there are two: Nublu 151, at 151 Avenue C, and Nublu Classic, in the old room at 62 Avenue C1. Songkick lists a show at Nublu Classic on October 17, 20263.
