Overview

An indoor biergarten complete with trees crammed into this corner bar where the drinks come in 3 sizes big, bigger, and way too big.

History

Big, bigger, and now a pop-up

We called it an indoor biergarten, trees and all, crammed into a corner bar, where the drinks came in three sizes: big, bigger and way too big. Zum Schneider kept that up at 107 Avenue C for 20 years, from 20001.

It closed at the end of February 2020, after the co-op board reportedly didn't offer a lease renewal1. In May 2022 the space was still empty2.

Rather than sign a new lease, Zum has carried on as a series of pop-ups and events2. It came back for Oktoberfest at Franklin Point in Greenpoint in September 2025, explicitly as a temporary stop3. In 2026 it announced another waterfront Oktoberfest, September 25 to October 44.
