History

Opened by Satsko, run by her daughter

Satsko Watanabe opened the bar on East 7th Street in 2004, and by 2021 her daughter, Amy, was running it¹. When we listed it, we put its loyal regulars down to warm service, a great sake selection and fairly priced food. It's still at 202 East 7th Street, and its own site calls it an East Village fixture, home to people who love great sake and a really, really good time².
