Make no mistake, this is no self-conciously trendy, hipster dive. This is the real deal.

Now that rent control is all but dead and years of epidemic gentrification have polished the NYC landscape into a strange parody of its original grit, bars like the Subway Inn stand out like filthy, little pearls amongst the legions of frat bars slowly envoloping the UES. Those in search of the rarest of Manhattan gems, the authentic dive need look no further.
