Bar Carrera (Greenwich Village)

146 W. Houston St. · at MacDougal St.
Greenwich Village, Manhattan

In 2026

Same bar, now Bar Veloce

Checked October 21, 2026.

This outpost of the popular East Village wine bar features the same successful recipe, small but tasty dishes in a swank, but comfortable setting.

The spot was formerly occupied by DeMarco's Pizza (the scene of a 2007 shooting spree). Interestingly Bar Carerra's sister bar, Bar Veloce, was also the scene of a 2002 shooting spree.
