Overview

A little personality, and less charm, make it hard to imagine what will draw people into the plasma TV infested corner bar when there's no game on. Beer pong?

History

Before the plasma TVs, Slugger Ann's

Long before the plasma TVs, 192 Second Avenue was home to Slugger Ann's, from the 1950s until 19801. Later, and for many years, it was Dick's Bar, a popular East Village gay bar1.

We were hard on the Ale House, wondering what would draw anyone in when there was no game on, and guessing beer pong. It has changed hands since: new owners took over in December 20182, and in 2019 it was re-established under the new management of Village bar veterans Rob Gelardi and P Moss3.

It's still at 192 Second Avenue4.
