Overview

The former Caffe Dell'Artiste still serves coffee in the AM and retains much of the old furnishings, but there's now a few video games in the back, 6 beers on tap, and a full bar. The real draw though is the view onto Greenwich Avenue from the second floor windows. Come Halloween those seats will be worth their weight in gold.

History

The Halloween seats, now with Star Wars

When we listed it, we said the real draw was the view onto Greenwich Avenue from the second-floor windows, and that come Halloween those seats would be worth their weight in gold. NYC.com puts it upstairs, above the Village Natural restaurant, with a great window for people-watching and a curiously high bar top1. These days it has Star Wars paraphernalia on the walls, a jukebox with 2,000 songs, half a dance floor and a small lounge that looks like someone's private library, and it calls itself dive-ish, with a happy hour that lasts till 8pm2, 3. In September 2026 a reviewer called it the best dive bar around4.
