Overview

At the last of the Tribeca dive bars a pitcher of PBR can be had for just $6. Which is good because you'll need to pound a half dozen or so to match the general level of sobriety.

History

Lights out at the last Tribeca dive

Our listing called the Patriot the last of the Tribeca dive bars, with pitchers of PBR at six dollars. A decade later a downtown guide still found a honky-tonk on Chambers Street, with cheap beers and a jukebox stacked with country tunes1.

It went dark in June 20222. Its parting note cited current financial constraints: the light at the end of the tunnel, it said, would be turned off until further notice2. Tribeca Citizen remembered it as one of the neighborhood's older bar bars and a beacon on Chambers Street2.

In September 2024 Alto, a dispensary run by five siblings from Little Neck, Queens, opened at 110 Chambers Street3.
