History
From the World's Fair to the after-work crowd
Before Maggie's Place, Teddy and Maggie worked together in the Irish Pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair1. Both had immigrated from Dublin in 19581. In October 1974 Teddy and Maggie Whelan opened their own bar, at 21 East 47th Street1, 2.
In 1992 their son Martin took over1. Our old listing called it an Irish pub popular with the after-work crowd from JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.
It's still at 21 East 47th Street, and the website's copyright line reads 20261.
