History

Under the W, then under renovation

Underbar was Gerber Group's bar beneath the W Union Square at 201 Park Avenue South, until the company closed it in June 2011 for a complete redesign¹. Scott Gerber, the group's principal, said Underbar had an incredible run, but that they saw a unique opportunity to re-conceptualize a remarkable property¹. The re-conceptualized space, Lilium, was set to open for private events and previews starting December 5, 2011¹. The W is still at 201 Park Avenue South, and its dining page now lists The Living Room Bar & Lounge².
