We called Peculier a student bar that improves dramatically when NYU isn't in session, and counted over 500 beers; Gothamist's 2015 count was 300 to 350 available at any time1. Either way, enough to outlast a semester.
The couple behind it opened a bar on West Fourth Street in 19821, and the pub has held court in its current incarnation on Bleecker Street since 19871. A mosaic class the family matriarch took began one of the pub's traditions1. Drink Club NYC still lists it2.
