Dancing, live latin music, tiki huts, and a jaw dropping sunset over the hudson. Hard to argue with really.

Opened in the 30's and recently renovated this Harlem institution has hosted all of the cities greats from Davis to Coltrane. The ribs are to die for and the jazz is still some of the best in the city. Attracts a mix of students, tourists, and neighborhood locals.

This locals dive is one of the oldest bars in Harlem. It's not so much a destination as a place to end up. But it you find yourself here, there's a pool table, a game on the TV, and even a piano against the wall if you've got the chops.

Still pouring
When you're leaving the game and you want to carry on drinking before you hop on the subway this is your closest option.

A once great dive bar driven into the ground by new ownership. But fear not former owner Jimmy Duff has opened a new bar in Williamsburg called, what else, Duff's.
