Avenue A Sushi opened in 1983, and locals called it Disco Sushi for its strings of Christmas lights, rotating collection of paintings and sparkly disco ball1, 2. It closed for several weeks in the spring of 2010 and reopened, renovated, that April as either Avenue A Sushi or G2 Kurosawa, a point on which even EV Grieve was a little confused, and by March 2011 it was Avenue A Bistro Bar1, 3, 4. That month it closed for good, after close to 30 years1, 5. By May a new sign promised "Mexican-Italian Infusion"6.
Researched October 2026.
