History
A cineplex of cabaret since 1982
Don't Tell Mama calls itself a veritable nightlife mall, a cineplex of cabaret: four spaces under one name, with a piano bar, a restaurant and two separate cabaret showrooms1. The name comes from Cabaret, the 1966 Kander and Ebb musical, whose heroine, Sally Bowles, performs at the Kit Kat Club1.
It opened in 1982, and more than forty years later it's still at 343 West 46th Street, open until 3:30 in the morning on Fridays and Saturdays1.
Its October 2026 calendar included Barbara Brussell in The Piano Bench Of My Mind – Songs I've Been Sitting on for Far Too Long2.
