History
Twenty-one feet of walnut, basically torn out
Bogart's built its main room around a 21-foot circular bar of California claro walnut, lit by imported Italian chandeliers1. The people behind Park Avenue Tavern later talked the owners into selling and, in their words, "basically tore out the whole place"2. Park Avenue Tavern still holds 99 Park Avenue, just blocks from Grand Central3.
