A dip, a drink, a neon glow

By July 2008 the brand-new bi-level Pooldeck atop the Empire Hotel was open for business1, and we prescribed a dip in the heated rooftop pool followed by a cocktail under the retro-cool neon glow of the hotel's sign. The rooftop pool still opens every year from late May through early September2, so the dip, at least, is still on, in season.
