Overview
This Italian café serves as bakery and tea shop by day, and a wine bar and restaurant by night.
History
Pastries by day, wine by night, still
Luca Di Pietro, who comes from Abruzzo, founded Tarallucci e Vino in 20011. We knew the 18th Street café for its double life, bakery and tea shop by day and wine bar by night; Time Out counted more than 60 wines by the glass from its owners, Di Pietro and Pepi Di Giacomo-Braun, alongside small plates, pastries and espresso2. It's still at 15 East 18th Street, open all day, and the company now calls it its flagship restaurant and wine bar3.
