History
The beauty parlor that learned to pour
In 1975 Dennis Ryan took a small beauty parlor on Beverly Road and turned it into Denny's Pub1. When he died in 1989, his son Kevin took over2.
Kevin later shut down the restaurant side, deciding that keeping a kitchen was simply too hectic2. The bar carried on: in 2009 the Village Voice's drinking advice was stiff pours of Jameson at $4.50, two for one during happy hour3.
In October 2025 Kevin marked the bar's golden anniversary with live music, giveaways and drink specials at 1970s prices1. It's still pouring at 106 Beverly Road4.
