History
Dropping the Ye Olde, one word at a time
Ye Olde Waverly Inn & Garden opened in the mid-1930s1, and the artist Paul Piel created the inn's signature interior decor during that time1. It's tucked discreetly into the ground floor of a Greek Revival townhouse on Bank Street2.
Then Ye Waverly Inn closed, and the landlord went looking for a new tenant3. A new Waverly followed, and in March 2026 it was celebrating twenty years under the same man's watch2.
It's at 16 Bank Street4, open for dinner seven nights a week and for brunch on Saturday and Sunday4.
