Overview

The swank second floor bar of the Thompson Hotel is not the kind of place you want to show up to under dressed - for example just after leaving a wedding.

History

Swank, sleek, and closed

When we listed it, we warned that the Thompson Hotel's swank second-floor bar was no place to turn up underdressed, say straight from a wedding. Gayot put the bar in the equally sleek Sixty SoHo hotel, and its listing now announces, in capitals, that the restaurant is closed¹. The hotel at 60 Thompson St permanently closed in 2024², and by October 2024 The Manner was open, taking over what used to be the Sixty SoHo hotel³. The former 60 Thompson now goes by number 58⁴.
