History

The old room went dark, the bar didn't

Rosie O'Grady's outlasted its own room. It held its Theater District site from 1980¹ until Covid shut it on March 15, 2020¹, and it left the address for good on July 1, 2023^{1, 2}.

Rather than fold, it opened anew at 148 West 51st Street¹, where the bar keeps 11:30 am to 2 am, seven days a week³.

In March 2026 the Post counted the old space as dark for nearly three years⁴.
