Temporarily closed as part of the renovation of the Plaza Hotel. Set to open again Spring 2008.

History

Still there, if you're throwing a wedding

The Oak Bar is still at the Plaza; it just isn't a bar you can walk into1, 2. The hotel will set it and the Oak Room up for weddings, conferences, seminars and panels of up to 140 people3.

It had held the northwest corner of the Plaza Hotel since 19452. Our 2009 listing still called it temporarily closed for the hotel's renovation and due back in spring 2008; its real last call came in summer 20111, 4.

The Oak Room and Oak Bar closed together after a dispute between the Oak Room's operators and the hotel's owners1, 5, 6.
