Art below, a drink in hand, back in 2030
The Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden opened to the public on August 1, 1987, a gift of the Cantors, and from 1998 it hosted a single-artist installation every summer1. Its bar opened from May to November, so you could stand above world-class art with a drink in hand2. Jennie C. Jones's installation was the last before the roof closed in October 2025 for five years of construction1, 3. We used to ask why you'd never been; now you have until 2030 to think of an answer4.
