Overview

There aren't many sports bars in the East Village, and there aren't any other Buffalo Sabres or Cubs bars, so if that's what you're looking for you're in no position to complain.

History

Avenue A's sports bar opens an uptown branch

When we listed Kelly's, we noted there weren't many sports bars in the East Village and no other Buffalo Sabres or Cubs bars, so fans of either were in no position to complain. In 2015 MLB.com found it still on Avenue A, right in the heart of the East Village¹. In April 2025 the popular East Village Irish pub opened an Upper East Side location². It now bills itself as a classic Irish sports bar with locations in both neighborhoods³.
