Overview

An attractive, but surprisingly low-key and inexpensive wine bar. A wine cellar ensures a good selection.

History

Fine wine on the discount-shoe strip

In 2010 Time Out found an enoteca on a Village strip known for discount footwear, rising above its surroundings with low lighting, tiny wooden tables and a wine list that rotated weekly1. Our old listing called it surprisingly low-key; the Village Alliance says it keeps an especially low profile, a local's scene in the best possible sense, 20 years in the making2. It's still listed at 28 West 8th Street, closing at two in the morning3.
